Relations between Switzerland and the United States

The Swiss consulate general is one of 1689 foreign representations in the United States, one of 83 foreign representations in the city of Chicago and one of 353 Swiss diplomatic and consular representations located abroad.
Prior to the opening of the consulate general, Switzerland had an honorary consulate in Chicago.
In addition to Switzerland's consulate general in Chicago, Switzerland has 24 other representations in the United States. These representations include an embassy in Washington, D.C. and consulates in Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Rock Hill, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle.

The United States has two representations in Switzerland. These representations include an embassy in Bern and a consular agency in Zurich.
