Relations between Japan and the United States

The Japanese consulate general is one of 1689 foreign representations in the United States, one of 43 foreign representations in the city of Seattle and one of 319 Japanese diplomatic and consular representations located abroad.

In addition to Japan's consulate general in Seattle, Japan has 33 other representations in the United States. These representations include an embassy in Washington, D.C. and consulates in Anchorage, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Detroit, Fresno, Hartford, Honolulu, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Madison, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Oklahoma City, Omaha, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, OR, Raleigh, San Diego, San Francisco and St. Louis.

The United States has six representations in Japan. These representations include an embassy in Tokyo and consulates in Fukuoka, Nagoya, Naha City, Osaka and Sapporo.
